    Omaha Beach Scenario

Yeah that's probably not spelled right. even our cats objected to the spelling and they can't spell cat.

Anyway I've started on a Omaha Beach scenario. I've found the stuff in the editor for it and I think it will be good in a couple of weeks.

I have no idea if anyone gives a crap about my player versus player things but I cannot do AI/bots, I've tried.

They've put enough German and US stuff in that I think I can make it work.

    Re: Omaha Beach Scenario

The map is F ing huge, no for some reason I didn't notice that at the start. The other, I44, version of it already had a bunch of barriers on it. Kind of looks funny because they have what looks like concrete on the beach where they placed the wire and other barriers. The concrete bunkers don't seem to be in the right place in every instance but how would I know I've never landed at Omaha Beach. Plenty of trenches already on it. May use the I44 version instead.

Ok I'm never gonna finish this, for awhile anyway. I just can't get it like I want it. I am starting to work on Bailing Outs Rat Patrol. I haven't exactly figured that out yet but I will.

    Re: Omaha Beach Scenario

I have the Colleville mission working, sort of. It always seems to go buggy a couple hours in. AI stop spawning, sectors won't activate, etc. That's an age-old Liberation problem that Zbug could never nail down, it just usually took a lot longer to happen (and is likely partly why you have the server set with a 3 hour restart!). In any case, right now I feel like it's a map that needs to be babysat (i.e. have someone around that can kickstart it if need be). Last time around the mission was borked even after a restart *sigh*.

I'll keep plugging at it, but if Zbug couldn't figure it out... well...

    Re: Omaha Beach Scenario

Along those same lines (and because I'm too lazy to make a new thread)... Luca is working on a new eastern front map of Vostok as well. When he's got that running, I'll put my spin on that as well so that can be added to the rotation cycle. He does good work with the map elements (though I always cringe at WW2 Hesco barriers...), and porting some of the units.

I've pondered doing the same with Ganhan (a wide-open, empty desert map) and using the DAK and NAC forces. They're pretty spartan though (particularly on the US side). If anyone knows of a better desert map (one without plastic porta-potties and ATMs, preferably) let me know. In any case, that's another labor that would take some serious time investment.
