Fh2 doesn't start

My brother can't start the game (bf2 or fh2), the launchers starts, fh2 doesn't start, though it runs on the background like this:

How could this be fixed?

Just restart it over and over, I have the same issue.
Sometimes it starts in just a few tries, sometimes it takes about 20 times to do this.

I'm on windows 7, but my pc's always had bit of a hassle with start up menu's and such.

Try this. Right click on the FH2 icon. Select properties. Click on Compatibility. Make sure that compatibility says "Windows XP (SP3)". If not, change it. Click OK. Click Apply.

That should get it to work. If not look at what your PC is set to and compare it to his.

Questions:
(1) What type graphics card is in your brother's PC?
(2) How much memory is in the PC?
(3) What type of processor is in the PC?

It's already set to run as admin and in compatibility mode.
his graphics card is a Geforce 840M
his RAM is 8 or 12GB
his processor is an i7

And in those forums, there was a similar problem, but not fixed (not that many replies)

i have the same /similar problem :

launcher starts the fh2 process but the process do not launch the game

fh2 reinstalled - same issue nothing happens.... wanted to try a complete reinstall but didn't had the time....

What operating system are you guys running?

I use win7 (works perfectly fine), he uses win 8.1, we tried to run in win xp comp mode with admin.

edit: After a complete reinstall it seems to work now, though it might go wrong again.

Yeah, well I'm trying to get the fh working on my laptop too. Problem is that the BF2 itself doesnt work too. Crashes on start.

I have a quick question. Since EA and Gamespy no longer support this game, could I loan my CD ROMs to my nephew so that he can install the base game and then install FH2? Will this work. Thanks.

You can't play together on the same server with this, already tried with my brother. You need a different key (example: I use a steam version, while my brother uses our original DVD version.)
