    Only played each one of them twice, full server (128) Gold Beach is a cluster****. That middle flag ruins it for me, beachhead i think it is, with the germans being able to take the two shore flags at the time the brits have to push for that middle one, it turns into a lot of running backwards. Which is sad cause the first flags are very cool, pushing in next to the Churchills and all that. I don't know about cover...the final stretch to those flags is all in the open, and the lines mix way too much, really don't think Gold Beach and I are going to be friends...
    Omaha is alright, it's much more streamlined, sure it's a slaughter for the americans, but it's not too bad. The map looks weird to me tho, very detailed in some places, like the shingle or the church, but almost looks abandoned around the edges of the rural areas...the accuracy to replicate the real place is cool once again.
    We'll see if the gameplay changes once people figure out the maps a bit more.

    Other than that I've only played those and Supercharge, Luttich, Giarabub, Objective Hyacinth (which was broken) and Alam Halfa (for some reason I can't understand)

    I still don't like how 128 players feels in pubby play.

    Yes, it's Beachhead on Gold Beach. Just get it to grey I think, will lock the first two flags, (but I'm not totally sure). I think Swamp is the most open of the front two. Combine its trenches with smoke and terrain. But, yeah. Very tough. But regardless, the higher numbers can really turn these into chaotic BS. I expect in organized play it could be even worse for the attackers with these 64+ situations.

    Besides Giarabub, I did Lebisey and Bastogne and didn't notice differences.

    Yeah, after last few releases I noticed that probably most of the Soviet weapons are done and now they're focusing on maps. Zielona Gora will be quite far, as I think they'll release the East in chronological parts. Starting with Soviets vs Finland. At least that's what I would do.

    Is there something people need to setup in their web browser? I get "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (fh2) isn't associated with any program."

    **edit -- Oh, answered my own question... There is a download for the Launch installer, but sadly my anti-malware votes NO! on it. I'm looking into it since I think it's a bogus determination. I mostly trust FH2 isn't going to release malware, but I'll see about setting up the browser protocol (fh2) association for myself.

    BTW, I found the download at the second link below. I like that one better than the first link because it gives you more options on browsing for a server. I click the Empty Server and Connect boxes at the bottom of the page. The download for the Launcher install is the "Get FH2 Launcher" button at the bottom of the page.

    If you have installed the FH2 Launcher, you are now able to click on links in the form of
    Quote
    fh2://server.ip[:port]
    which will directly start Forgotten Hope and join the selected server.

    This is usable form our gameserver page by clicking the joystick icon next to a server.

    and also on every other website using those server connection links.

    For WaW maps that need the mod, it will not matter how FH2 is launched. It will not matter to FH2 since the WaW mod is only used when maps need it. So, it doesn't matter if you have the WaW mod installed or not when you use the FH2 Launcher.

    Before I have said my old FH2 shortcut worked so I didn't need to use the Launcher. That may be true right now, but without using the Launcher there will be no automatic FH2 updates. We should all use the Launcher. "Melvin bad; very bad."

    Holy hell, set the bots to 250 and started a co-op server with my mate! If only the AI acted a little more coherently, you'd have a big battle feeling!

    Well after a full day playing FH2 vs bots and online with my brother in law, I'm very pumped for the next WaW

    Will we still be trying to have a "full" campaign with points and gear purchasing, or will it be more casual and just run with defaults? Poor gear selection and/or balance made some of the fights seemingly really one-sided last campaign....

    Indeed. And there are lots of factors in making a campaign turn out unbalanced. Loadout selection by the teams, leadership from the teams, and number of players that participate in battle can make a difference. FH2 standard maps would need adjustment to be balanced for Tournament play. Generally, WaW uses it's own custom maps or those provided by permission from other Tournaments. Although, we have used some FH2 standard maps, but as stated, with some adjustment.

    It's just crazy how some things are so hard to notice as potential issues before you're in a 6 hour match. Such as the rolling hills on one map near the allied base that made getting to the front line in armour a nightmare, or shell craters on the allied side on another map meaning that the allied vehicle rush into the map had a good chance of going awry with vehicle accidents EVERY TIME.

    Now imagine those issues, except now the loadouts are made for uncoordinated play.

    Haha yeah

    Picked up BF2 on steam for ease of use and loaded up FH2 again. Been getting back into it and thinking about joining you guys on the next campaign! Mind you I'm crap at FH2 now

    They changed a fair number of things, but yeah; mostly, tweats. But isn't that a Omaha 16 new? I have to put that in the rotation, still. Some single player, too.
