'Twas mentioned in my other thread about ARMA 2 & 3, but thought I'd mention them separately because of these sales..

ON STEAM RIGHT NOW - Offer ends in 40 hours as at posting.

ARMA 2 : COMBINED OPERATIONS

:jd: :jd: :jd: :jd: :jd: $4.99 USD (80% off) :jd: :jd: :jd: :jd: :jd:

Contains A2 and A2:OA (Operation Arrowhead expansion).
Would be necessary to have a look at
most mod content for ARMA 2 (including WWII content such as Invasion '44).

ARMA 2 : Complete Collection

:jd: :jd: :jd: :jd: :jd: $7.99 USD (80% off) :jd: :jd: :jd: :jd: :jd:

Contains A2, A2:OA (Operation Arrowhead expansion), A2:BAF (British Armed Forces expansion),
A2:PMC (Private Military Company expansion), and A2:ACR (Army Of The Czech Republic expansion).

These 3 expansions other than A2:OA would NOT be necessary, but will give you the pretty,
hi-res versions of graphics for some of the modern warfare content that the expansions bring.

ARMA 3

:salute: :toast: :awes :tank:  $35.99 USD (40% off, down from $59.99) :tank: :awes :toast: :salute:

The latest platform.

The other expansions are available for ARMA 2 if needed for just a dollar or two each. I haven't bothered with them to date, so will probably grab the Complete Collection as a second copy.

The very best of the holiday season to you all.

Yeah, all those smileys are lagging my computer. ;)

Ah, leave it to Steam. They've come up with a nice deep discount.
If you want to run I44, just need the $5 ARMA II: Combined Operations.
(Apparently I44 wants both ARMA II and ARMA II Operation Arrowhead; both are in Combine Ops.)

This is how people get the underlying engines for cheap. Screw the basic game, but run a free mod on top of it.

Do you get money for advertising arma stuff?

I really starts to look like it, you are just too biased on this game

-snip-

You have put more effort into advertising arma things than you ever had in this tournament overall

So? This is a mess hall.. he's fully allowed to post that here. It's also a game that might be relevant for the future of the tournament. So back off with the nonsense oddball, we've already had to delete some spam from this thread from your end, let it end there.

I think the ARMA Series is the best option, great modding community, having **** loads of fun playing it too!

I say that in the Mess Hall, everyone's opinions are accepted. Just because one is somewhat more vocal than the other doesn't mean that the other has no right to speak.

Also, for on topic: still too expensive for me.

I say that in the Mess Hall, everyone's opinions are accepted.

It's not an opinion, Lardagus, it's an unsubstantiated accusation against a constructive member he happens to disagree with. He's used circular reasoning and falsehoods to make it, and is "begging the question". The fact that I've argued for a particular title is no evidence whatsoever towards whether or not I make money from it (I don't). It's also a "red herring"... an attempt to draw the conversation away from the real arguments.

Bring forth your evidence that I make money out of recommending any ARMA title, and it wouldn't change the fact that he's offered little other than trolling to counter my arguments for the title, and that it's a good choice in the face of very few good choices for the future of our group.

Beyond that, you are limited only by accepted netiquette and rules of the group as to what, where, and how any member can post. It's nice to see some appropriate moderation, and is appreciated by the adults here who give a damn about the future of this group, and are trying to conduct reasonable discussion to that end.

This thread was created to draw attention to the fact that titles that are being looked at for our future are on sale. Dissent is not necessary, required or welcome.

... snipped various ruminations to make room for the important part...

This thread was created to draw attention to the fact that titles that are being looked at for our future are on sale. ...

Although, it seems the content of this whole thread is simply:

CHECK-OUT STEAM (http://store.steampowered.com/) OFTEN FOR SALES ON VARIOUS GAMES, INCLUDING THE ARMA SERIES.

Of course, people are free to comment but there isn't much more to say about the topic, so enough here.

I've reopened the discussion thread on the ARMA platform.
